Tall House Updates: Take A Full Tour

Would you like to see a full tour of the Tall House? I shot this tour to give an overall sense of where we are with the renovations. We’ve made so much progress!

The upper 3 floors are basically done — there are a few little details to attend to, but it feels like the big work is finished. On the ground floor, some of the rooms are close to done, but others still need a lot of work. Once the essential plumbing is complete, our plan is to move in and finish the rest while we live there.

After sharing the tour, I also invited Q&A and answered a ton of questions. I’m going to share the Q&A in this post too. Come take a peek.

Home Tour Part I, with a little bit of Q&A at the end:

Home Tour Part 2:

There’s the tour! I hope you enjoyed it. If you have questions or are curious about anything, take a look at this Home Tour Q&A:

If I didn’t cover your question in the Q&A, feel free to ask it in the comments below. A few helpful and related links: If you’d like to see the original tour of the house, filmed on the day we bought it, you can find it here in my Instagram highlights. I also got lots of requests for floor plans — you can find a blog post about those here. (Plus floor plan Q&A here.)

P.S. — More Tall House updates.

  1. I have a question and I missed the highlights! How did you refinish the doors especially the door knobs and the hinges? We have old wood doors that desperately need refinishing but I just don’t know how to tackle it and all of the hinges were painted over.

  2. It’s hard to put into words how beautiful and inspiring you, your family, and your team of craftspeople have made your home. I look forward to seeing how it comes together with your furniture, textiles, and other design elements. I can imagine what a comfortable and cozy place it will be to live and to visit. Congratulations on getting so close to the finish line!

  3. Love all your videos! For some reason Instagram isn’t showing you in my stories anymore, and I have to go to your profile to see them. Is that happening to anyone else?

  4. I just wanted to thank you for giving us such a wonderful view of the highs and lows of this renovation project through the pandemic – it’s been truly a highlight of the last 15 months of being stuck at home to escape to France with you & your delightful tradespeople as you breathe new life into this property.
